Controller stuck on Free Aim Mode

So Im using a PS4 controller in GTAV, and it works perfectly fine. Except its stuck on free aim mode and I cannot turn on aim aissit. Its blacked out, and I cannot change it.

Its incrediably difficult to aim without it, I literally get out gunned every time because I cant aim properly. I know mouse/keyboard is better, but I prefer a game like GTA V with a controller. Any help would be great!

I'm having the opposite issue. It's stuck on auto aim and I want to turn it off.

It gave you a warning, once you switch it, you can only play with people with similar settings.

It didn't say that you wouldn't be able to change back over. It simply said that if you played online you wouldn't be able to play with people who use free aim.

Ok so I figured out my problem, I just had to go to single player, and shoose aim aissist mode then it gave me the warning. Thanks anyways!
