PSA if you want a fun ONLINE experience turn on FREE AIM in single player
If you love aim assist good for you, but GTA V is not you regular aim assist

Since it looks like it's going to be like console you can be matched with only other free aim players automatically by having that set while in single player. Having hit level 66 on console I became so frustrated i stopped playing online about a year ago because the AIM ASSIST is so aggressive it's a built in aim bot. On console it became so hard to find people who were using freeaim all we could find were aim assist players.

As seen below you will be speeding down the road and effortlessly destroyed without a chance by someone with aim assist on. It doesn't assist aim but instead automatically locks on the head of the nearest enemy very quickly much like an obvious aimbotter. If you want to avoid this frustration and have a lot more fun I highly advise playing with aim assist OFF.

If you really want to use a controller for driving do what I do and use a controller for driving and put it down for keyboard + Mouse when on foot.

With the PC version at higher FPS the free aim will be a lot more like what we had in Max Payne 3 and it won't suffer from a slugish motionblurred feel like it was on console so save yourself from raging at so many BS deaths and use free aim.

Free aim better be stand alone servers , not even mixed in with the partial assist crowd.

Unless there is a last minute change before launch it will group you or be what the leader of an event has. So if you use free aim it will only put you in servers with other free aim players.
I agree with you in some ways, but "It doesn't assist aim but instead automatically locks on the head" Is slightly misleading ; It does not lock onto the head, it locks onto the body ( although it is easy to get a head shot by moving the stick up slightly on a controler).

Also, when you say aim assist, are you talking about the actual aim assist setting, where it only locks on to enemies if you are aiming near/at them, or are you talking about auto aim, where it locks straight onto them, because if you didn't know, there is free aim, assisted aim and classic gta aim (Auto Aim).

aim assist is for newbs and it sucks that it even exists but as long as the servers are kept seperate then its no big deal to me. provided you cant just join a free aim server / game then switch auto aim on and ruin a fun TDM with your chessy aim :)

Shouldn't have to be aim assist on PC. On consoles they need it cause controllers are ♥♥♥♥ when it comes to FPS games =)

but there are ppl who play it with a controller on pc ( yeah really.....) and therefore auto aim will be in.....anyway i shot 5 autoaim controllers with k+m before the turn

playing fps or tps with a controller is retarded

please don't turn GTA into a first person skill shooter counterstrike.. it's not what it is. Precise aim was never a feature of GTA, not something that made GTA great, not the focus of gameplay to be as precise as possible.

If you really want to play with assist you can but the aiming and recoil in this game is so basic that it doesn't take a great amount of skill to be good. The point is, there will be lots of frustrating moments where you are flying by in a car, chopper, w/e and you are instantly killed by some insane ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shot online if you choose to play with aim assist on EVEN the most basic level of it is extremely aggressive like no other game.

Most pc players will probably have a much more enjoyable experience with free aim plus there are a lot more epic moments as people are not always shot in the head or chest with the lock on.

I got to level 66 in GTA V online and own it for xbox 360, ps4 and now PC. The aim assist became so frustrating none of my friends have played online in about a year as we have just waited for the PC VERSION.

The aim assist is horrible in GTA V console version so yes I will be using free aim and I advise anyone else to do the same even if your on a controller. Remember consoles were at 30fps so free aim will be a lot more fun and easier even with a controller.

Me and my friends will be using free aim for sure! I hate that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ aim assist on the console version.
Luftwaffle Apr 12, 2015 @ 2:32pm
It is not an aimbot and it's easy to make people lose the lock by rolling. It also drops lock momentarily.

Your example is also atrocious because that is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ auto shotgun peppering everything window and not window in front of it. Quite easy to replicate using a mouse and keyboard. So yeah, there's that.

If you're playing with the aim assist and die then it's not bs lol. The game is kinda designed to use that, has been for some time, which is why it was originally called classit gta.

They changed it on the newer versions to be full assist, partial assist, free assisted and full free.

dont care, lol

Yea I was playing Max Payne 3 MP the other day and literally could only find a server if I switched to soft-lock on. Really disappointing

Please be quiet. Some gamers who use the gamepad find that the aim assist feature offsets the lack of motion with the control sticks. This "cheat" as you call it, is simply a rehashed version of the GTA IV aim assist feature. It aims at the Torso/Hip - this is NOT aiming at the head.

In an ideal world, the game would only pair gamepad players with other gamepad players, but seeing how easy it is to spoof a keyboard and mouse as an XInput device, that won't be feasible.
