Is the Retail version of GTA V of pc steam compatible?

I have pre-order a retail copy of GTA V for PC, and I can't wait to pick it up,
I was wondering if the Retail version for PC would be steam compatible or not?

As in it's Cd Key work on steam.

No, you cannot activate retail copies of GTA V on Steam.

Nope, you can not activate the retail key on Steam. Only buyers on Steam will get the Steam version. All keys outside of Steam are Social Club keys.

Ppl are so annoying with steam stuff, the only difference you have retail vs steam one is you can broadcast the game on steam and it has the same achievements retail one has but on steam. both copies update and you can also add the retail copy as non steam game and do exactly the same thing as awalys on steam

hi scream i know your trying to be helpful and your a mod so it's probably your duty to tell him but this and others like this are trolls this question has been asked a bunch of times this week and answered. lets just sticky one of these posts and let the rest die by diving to the bottom of the forums. or if you could start banning some of these trolls. not sure what your rules are on the ban hammer but these trolls deserve it by waisting your time you could be answering a legit question.
