GTA 5 PC Joystick support?
Title says it all, I wonder if GTA 5 will Support a Joystick. I always found flight controls to be natural with a proper Joystick.

I think I might get it done with mouse and Keyboard, but a Joystick would be preferable for me.

And I don't want to use a Gamepad. I have two of those, but still.

probably will, it is the same angine as max payne 3, gta IV, la noire and red dead redemption (tho it doesn't even have a pc version) and they all had xbox 360 controller for windows support, so i don't see why would they remove this feature..

I'm sure it will. Lots of people are using keyboard since there's first person, but honestly the first person is really stiff in comparison to BF games or COD (I have it on PS4), so I'll probably stick with a 360 controller and 3rd person.

Isn't there a difference between Gamepads and Joysticks? I seem to remember that GTA 4 only initially had Joystick Support, but Rockstar removed it, for reasons unknown to me.

To clear this up: I'm not talking about those weeny "sticks" on Gamepads like the 360 Controller, I'm talking about a fully grown Joystick, as it is commonly used in flightsims. You know, full axis control, throttle, etc.

It won't be stiff if you have Raw Mouse Input enabled.

Sam Roberts from PC Gamer confirmed that XB1, 360 and PS4 controllers will work in the game

Well, at least there's that. Guess I simply will have to try on GTA's release in a few days if my trusty old Sidewinder Precision 2 will work or not. Thank you all still for your replies.

Did this work for you? I want to use my x52.

I'm using an X52, and I can't get it to work. It's not recognizing it; I can use my game controller, but for flying it's X52 or bust. Everything else is laughable by comparison. If anyone figures out how to get it working please post it here!

I have a Logitech extreme 3D pro joystick and I would love to fly with it in GTA 5. Could you help me set it up if it is at all possible.

And it ain't a beat 'em up either. Yet a gamepad is supported.

My sidewinder isn't recognized as well. I'm using my Xbox 360 controller now, as flight controls are at least mostly ok with that.
Tried keyboard+mouse..... horrible experience. In times when the years old Saint's Row: The Third has both precise and easy to use keyboard+mouse flight controls, I truely wonder why Rockstar had to make it complicated for GTA. AGAIN.

Anyway, until either Rockstar patches in joystick support and/or a simple workaround is discovered, it's basically gamepad for flying in GTA 5.
