Buy early or wait for possible sale?
I'm planning on buying this game when I have enough money, but currently I don't have the money and I'm wondering if I should wait for a possible sale. Is it worth the wait? Do you think it'll go on sale within the next 3 or so months, even for a short time? I don't have much experience with sales because my library is realitively limited, and am somewhat new to steam.

I dont think so. It will be full price for a long time like Diablo 3.

It won't be more than 25% off for some time. I bought it off GMG to get it preordered for 25% off already.

Judging by the popularity of the series, I wouldn't count on a sale untill the Steam winter sale. Maybe during the Autumn sale but I thinks thats being pretty optimistic. :P

I suppose it's time for me to save up then, huh

It will get some sort of minimal discount (10-15%) around the time of Summer Sale, but I wouldnt count on any sort of real sale (30%+) until Winter sale. This game will be #1 on Steam for the entire year probably. Ive not seen it lower than 2nd since it started pre-orders and if its made well and is not a mess like GTA IV's PC version, it will be even more popular.

If you're really looking to save money, your best bet may be to avoid the Steam version and just get the Rockstar version. Basically if you buy it anyplace other than Steam, you get the version that has to be downloaded via Rockstar Social Club, that also includes the physical version.

I.E. right now you can go on GMG and get it for $45 or so using discount codes that are very easy to find. That version will be easier to get cheaper as its not an exclusive and there will be more opportunities for sales (GMG, Amazon, etc). The Steam version is only available on Steam.

What is the difference between the steam version and other versions? (other than the possible sales)

I'd wait about a month just to see how optimized it is, R* seem like they're not going to let the PC community down but I would wait and see. Then if it's all good or a patch has been releaed buy it somewhat cheaper :)

That's weird, I looked at all the websites you mentioned and the best sale I could find was on amazon for 3 cents off. Did I just get unlucky and the sales just ended or am I not looking in the right place? (I looked on amazon, Rockstar and GMG)

I think GMG has one of those coupon code right now, though I"m not 100% sure.

GMG runs those vouchers all the time

GMG has vouchers you can use. There should be one right on the front page that says 22% off. You have to plug that code in upon checkout. I just looked and its there. Join GMG and I believe you become a VIP, the price is $46.79 for VIPs. http://www.greenmangaming.com/vip/
I dunno if the coupon code stacks with that, I wouldnt bet on it.

There is no sale on Amazon now. There will just be more opportunities for sales because the non-Steam version is available more places and I used them as an example.

Yeah, I just found the 22% voucher code on GMG, thanks
A game like this won't go on sale for a long while, and even so during some kind of Steam sale it likely won't yet. I don't expect to see this below $60 USD even during the Summer Sale.

Sometimes the voucher wont work with certain games. If it doesnt work for GTA 5, join GMG (if you've not already) then you're a GMG "VIP" and can get those prices. Its 46.79 for VIPs right now.

I created the account and saw the descount, but do you know how long the sale will be?
