Heat Influence?

Pretty sure this has been talked about to death, but man I never noticed all the little things that are Heat inspired. Like Lester, and even the location of his house in game are all taken from Heat. It's not a bad thing at all, and it's really awesome to see nods like that. Has anyone else noticed anything Heat related in the game?

What is Heat? High Explosive Anti Tank? Are there females dogs roaming around GTA 5? ....Is it hot there?

First thing that came to mind when I saw the trailer with the big truck hitting the armoured car and then using explosives to blow out the back door, was Heat.

I loved that movie and it seems so obvious it was taken from it, but that's awesome all the same.

Heat is an awesome movie. And you're absolutely right. I remember in 2013 when GTA V was getting released on consoles, Rockstar talked about how heists in the game are inspired by many movies, books, events and other things. They specificaly mentioned Heat as one of the movies that inspired some heists.

Pretty early in the game, there is a mission very similar to the armored van robbery scene in Heat. A truck rams an armored van to steal the contents. In the process armored van tips over to it's side, etc.

GTA games are normally inspired by pop culture. Just look some of it up on youtube. Vice City has a lot of Scarface refrences as well.

Just finished Heat.

Even some of the character traits were transferred over to GTA, the endless need for violence and never knowing when to stop while you're ahead. Man this really does fit well with GTAs gameplay, seriously watching this movie has made me understand GTA's story and characters more than I did before. This is great!
