Playing GTA V with a controller or keyboard/mouse

I am a classic Keyboard + Mouse gamer, but I do love to play racing (driving) games with a controller, uncomparable experience...
I am wondering if I should get an Xbox360 controller for my PC and try to addapt using it because I haven't used a controller for fps/tps games before... It feels like it's impossible after so many years of PC gaming..

Any Keyboard-mouse gamer around that played GTA V on console?
What do you people think? How will you play GTA V?

november... if Rockstar delays the game a few more times, they will be released both same month! I see it has a touchpad on the right... valve really thinks of amazing stuff that are useful...

Not sure, i'm gonna try both but will probably use a xbox controller until Steam Controller comes out.

I played GTA IV with KB & M with no problem at all and played GTA V on PS3 so if the driving hold up on keyboard and mouse you shouldn't have no problem. Since you will get players chasing you down for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles to kill you and gun fights are horrible on the console. So PC controls will imrpove on that part.

The Steam controller doesn't offer the right analog stick? If so, that is really bad for many games.

Yes, I see. A touchpad could be nice option to move a mouse cursor, but, I'm not sure if it will work well as a right stick, like moving your view in a shooter game.

probably it will have a different approach, for example the more you touch to the sides the faster the camera moves, if you touch close to the middle the camera will move slowly, at least this is what I imagine at this point.

I played GTA V on the 360 myself, obviously with a controller. On the PC I usually switch between KB&M and controller depending on the game. Racing games and Platformers I usually whip out the controller for, but I think I'll play GTA V with KB&M myself.
If it can be arranged I'll probably quickly switch to the controller for longer car rides/Racing events though, or for flying.

Xbox 360 Controller: Third Person Mode

In Saints Row 3 I swapped between them depending on if I were on foot or driving. It worked great, and I will likely do the same with GTA V.

Why would you want to use a controller? I mean, for driving, maybe, but I still prefer mouse + KB. The aiming and movement is god awful with a controller. Controllers are so bad that developers have to make an aimbot for them.
