Retail version of GTA V in UK is cheaper than on Steam!
Hi people,

Today I decided to check the price of a boxed version of GTA V that I've got on pre-order on a British website called ShopTo.net (I'm always buying from them).

GTA V here on Steam in UK costs £39.99, the same game, along with the same amount of bonus money for all of the games THREE delays so far on ShopTo.net costs only £34.85. 1 day delivery on this website (if you're living in the mainland UK) is always free. Therefore buying like that saves you over £5 :).

I just decided to make this thread to prove all people who are keep on saying that retail PC games aren't cheaper, wrong.

So what I bought it on Steam as that is the only way you can get it on Steam.

You don't know that yet man as they haven't confirmed anything. Besides I personally have no problem with having this game connected to my SocialClub account only. They won't use GFWL for it anyways.
Since I don't mind not having it on Steam (still, it wasn't confirmed that retail version won't be a Steam title) I rather buy it £5 cheaper :).

it is comfirmed that the retail version won´t come with a steam code, but only a social club code.

This!

That is why I bought on Steam as I have Grand Theft Auto 1, 2, 3, VC, SA, IV and EFLC on Steam and would not look right with Grand Theft Auto V in my Library.

Too bad retail AAA games cost $100 here.

This is becoming more and more common now. I think most likely it's because Steam take a cut of the sales (obviously), which I've read is 30%. So games direct from the publisher like the R* Social Club can afford to be cheaper.

Like I said, I personally don't really care about whether I've got the game on Steam or not, as long as I have it. Also if I can spare myself 5 quid, then I'll always go for it ;).
