Pre-Ordered GTA V While in China. Regional Restrictions Question.

Hi there,

I have purchased the game directly through Steam Store, and there was no any notice it has Regional Restrictions, but when I go to Steam's "Licenses and subscriptions" page, it says "Grand Theft Auto V Pre-Purchase (Tier 2) CN", what does "(Tier 2) CN" mean?

Most of the time I stay in China, but sometimes I go back to my home country.

1. Would I be able to play the game outside of China?

2. If I am not, what should I do to play the game whether I am in China or Russia? (Make two accounts and buy the game twice? :\ )

It is likely region restricted, mainly so people can't cheat the pricing of different countries but also because the game isn't the same in other regions. The Chinese version of the game doesn't have the same three protagonists and likely has an altered story.

If you're going to be in more than one place it might be best to take the copy you are more likely to be able to play?

Ask them if they can transfer you over to the other region you want. Don't buy the game again.

Or you could set up a VPN.

I cannot ask them, because it is mandatory before post in Rockstar support site, to have 1 month account.

If your worried about region locks, get a refund for the chinese copy and pay 60$ for a ROW copy to a friend to gift to you.
