First person looks terrible and likely is a handicap so probably third person. I might go first person occasionally just for driving and the immersion.

Third, If i want to play an FPS i'd play Counter-Strike, Tf2, Or any of the Half-Life Source engine games. those games were made on PC for PC and work great with PC Controls. GTA V was made as a Third Person Shooter (The 3-D Ones anyway) the fact they added an fps option to an open-world game is an interesting idea, but none the less useless to me.

I will use first person. Then again, I play Mount & Blade Warband Multiplayer in first person and I plan to play the Entire Campaign with the Musket whenever possible, so it's possible I am just completely mad.

Either way, that's my insanity.

I think it completely depends on how high I am at the time. First person is certainly way more immersive, but sometimes immmersion is scary.

I've been always a fan of TPS games, love Hitman, Thief 3, Saints Row, etc. but shooting in FPS looks very good, seeing the weapons and accessories on them, furthermore it's close and personal. There's third person for everything else.

The concept of 1st person GTA combat is nice, but the execution is crap IMO.

I will play in first person mode. I tried it on console (PS4) but i didn't liked first person mode with a controller. I stopped playing on PS4 because of the graphics, framerate (20-30FPS) and texture pop ins, but that is a different story. Keyboard + Mouse will be the way to go for me when playing in first person mode :-)
