Game saves across Rockstar and Steam launchers

Hi folks,
Apologies if this was asked already. I tried looking for the answer but couldn't find anything specific.
I have lots of hours played of GTA 5 through the Rockstar launcher but want to buy and play it on Steam. Better community here and i'm trying consolidate games and minimise the use of other launchers. Steam is the best of course.

Question is, if i buy GTA 5 on Steam will all my single player saves and online character etc be there when i start playing on Steam?

Also does GTA 5 when bought and launched through Steam actually download and use the Rockstar launcher anyway or launch the game directly itself? I know it's required to have a Rockstart Social Club account regardless of what launcher launches the game.

I know Rockstar launcher has cloud saves as i've reinstalled the game via the Rockstar launcher many times. I just wonder if i buy it on Steam and it loads up etc will my saves be there?

First answer is a yes. Your Story Mode save is stored outside of the game's installation, it should be same for R* Launcher and Steam, so accessible on both. Your Online character is stored on R*'s servers, so it should be accessible from whatever PC platform you use (R* Launcher, Epic Games, Steam).
The second answer is, yea, Steam launches a simplified R* Launcher app, or whatever, basically you'll see a familiar loading from the Launcher itself. (a point circling an R and a star around over and over). You still need a R* Social Club account to play GTA even on Steam, you should be able to link it, so nothing much changes.
And you should be able to play with people from R* Launcher just fine, I am able to play with a friend, who owns GTA on Epic Games. So long as it's not a completely different platform ... aka Console, the connectivity should be fine.
