entering or exiting a building in public results in endless load ... have to crash out
doesnt matter. in lobby 1 minute or a hundred, entering or exiting ANY building results in spinning wheel (if im lucky ) and nothing else. have to crash out. this has been a persistent problem, but it seems to have become exponentially worse lately. ive reinstalled, defragged, optimized ... nothing works. (please dont tell me about pulling Ethernet or suspending process i already know about that and that does not solve the problem.) i have an i7 asus tuf gaming board w ddr5 ram and nvme drive so its not the machine. wtf? anyone else experiencing this like never before? the GD game is totally unplayable if entering your office or auto shop or agency or hanger ... or exiting ... results in the end of gameplay. wtf?

You do, because it's a public sessions issue. It doesn't occur in IO, or Friends Only sessions. It's most likely the mod menu users messing with the session. There's so much going on, that it slows down everyone and severely affects loadings. So yea, you do get that only in public.

R* servers have nothing to do with it, because they aren't running the game, they only save/load your character, the game runs on P2P connection, that's dirrect package exchange from one computer to another, there's always one acting as a server host, but it's a player's computer like yours. So don't put the blame on R* servers, there's no such a thing.

I have the same, a brand new problem with a game. The only solution which works is to leave session (kick other players), so you will end in solo public session.

Make .bat file ex: SleepGTA.bat. Download pssuspend.exe Microsoft command from SysInternals package. (use google)

Inside of file paste this:

pssuspend.exe gta5
TIMEOUT /T 8
pssuspend.exe -r gta5

I know, this is not an perfect solution, but at least you are not forced to reload your game.

If it is P2P then it has something to do with the persons machine you connecting to, and the traversal to that machine. And that could be a myriad things.

The only thing you can blame, is that Rockstar not puts own servers online, it would be even ok if you only land on Rockstar servers if you have the subscription. But this is one of the reasons not to subscribe, since its P2P.

I am playing this game a month. Never before had such problem, which started 2 days ago. Becouse that, I think it's not a P2P case.

2 Days ago... that Christmas update released December 19, 2024. It might have something to do with that?
