vredist_x86.exe - Bad Image

Every time I launch GTA V, an error with this title appears. The game crashes often, so I thought this might have something to do with it It reads,

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Cabinet.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for the support. Error status 0xc0000020."

I've had this problem with other games, but I am posting it in the GTA V forums because this is the first game that the error had happened. From what I understand after doing a little internet research, vcredist_x86.exe has to do with Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, althought I am a little confused on what it does and what it's for, but there are multiple versions of it apperantly, all from different years (much like Microsoft Office).
