Offline mode at start, need to restart the game 5-6 times to get online

I started playing GTA Online again after I stopped in 2022. Everything was fine lately until Valentine's week passed. I could Start the game offline in Steam and Logged in online via the In-game menu Like I always did cause it was way faster than logging in online stratight away from steam.
Anyway, I think since last maintenance, the game is forcing an offline mode, whether I start standard GTA V or GTAO directly. I have to restart the game 5-or 6 times so that i can EVENTUALLY get online.

And to make things worse, My Controller is working fine whenever I make those painful restarts but when the online mode works, Controller won't work...

It's driving me crazy... Anyone else having this issue ?

Yep, mine is doing the exact same thing. It's only started doing it for me since I had an update the other day.

Found that launching through rockstar's launcher helped, no clue why.

Yeah I tried that but for some reason it goes straight to story mode, every two starts, even though i'm logged in on the desktop app... That's crazy

Mine has been doing the same thing, logs me in offline, unable to access online for 2 days

have u tried open as administrator for steam or R* launcher?

Thanks, this worked for me. I also had the same issue,launching it through steam puts me in offline mode. Launching through rockstar puts me in online mode. Probably related to the new patch coming march 4 and theyre messing with stuff.
