Dear Rockstar, please keep your update. Just let me enjoy the game with mods.
I have all the features I want and I don't want the mods to be broken every 6 months.

You can still play OG GTAV with mods if you want.

OPENIV is likely to get an update to enable support for the enhanced edition, And ScripthookV will likely also get an update to support the enhanced version.

It'll be the same as it is now, Launch without Battleeye to play SP with mods.

Just the plain mod-less basic version of the game isn't even loading since the update. And, yes, installed files have been verified and all that jazz.

This thread isn't about that issue though, But, Have you tried deleting your settings.xml from Documents/Rockstar Games/GTAV?

I also broke it with an old ScripthookV that caused all sorts of issues.
I had to delete both the game and social club including the documents folder and do a fresh install of both before it worked again for me.



But yes I also understand that the modding community will include this update like the last. It just feels annoying that every other update breaks the mods and with some mods you just never get an update from the mod dev. There were some old "Be a cop" mods that I preferred over the current one and they don't work anymore just for a personal example

FiveM would never have existed without Mods, There's more reasons to support mods than there is to hate them.

Mods extend the life of a game by adding new content, They also sometimes spur the development of actual games ( see DayZ mod -> DayZ standalone )

Now, If you mean "mods" as in the stuff cheaters use, Then yeah I agree, But modding isn't in of itself inherently bad.

Except they don't "all do the same thing".. Mods are not cheats... Mods change core gameplay elements such as adding new vehicles, texture packs, weather and timecycle changes, new character models, buildings that usually cannot be entered will have interiors with a certain mod, some mods allow you to do kidnappings ingame, some mods allow better blood and ragdolls, new sounds, new vegetation, There's even some mods that convert Los Santos into Los Angeles.

Cheating is NOT the same as modding.

Mods add content.
Mod Menus ( aka the ones cheaters use against other players ) are cheats.. There's a huge difference between mods and cheats.

In fact, very much, the game is censored. It took out references to jokes. And even a poster in the promotional materials. And I fear that's also done in the game because the poster features a woman in a bikini.
