Linking my accounts

Trying to link my already established rockstar account to my to my launcher. but every time i try to play it keeps wanting to link to the steam account. bascially what im asking is how do i link my old account to steam or whatever?

According to your gta5 achievements, you at least linked an account in 2021. You don't unlink - R* does. You may not be able to link another account either if they did unlink.

In the past they were simply far more unlikely to unlink already banned social club accounts. Some users reported they were able to get them switched - but the details at the time were scant on that like... 'family shared' loophole and what not.

yeah thats the problem, am i to purchase the game again but under my old account in the launcher?

but essentially you are saying i can not swap my steam account out of the launcher to my old one, just with the one made from steam?

You cannot attach a new account to steam , the exploit has been resolved and fixed about 9 months back.

Because people can use it to bypass online bans for their steam acc. Well they can't now.

It is not silly it is needed since the amount of people wanting to do this is astronomical, there is absolutely 0 reason for one to unlink the accounts and then attach a new one . And don't bring me this excuse you want to start over , if so then use SAM lock all your steam achievements and delete the character in-game, also don't bring this in that you can't login since you don't remember your password, if this is the case recover it using support.

Steam keys are one time activation
Meaning it is part of the DRM protection

I mean if you did not get banned, then there is no purpose to unlink. if you don't like your SC username or w/e, you can change it couple times per year.

maybe its already solved but i wanted to add that there are diffrent lauchers aswell

a game bought on steam uses the steam-rockstar launcher, bought on epic uses the epic-rockstar launcher or normal rockstar uses the normal-rockstar launcher.

basicly you cant use the same launcher to login into accounts you have got from diffrent shops.
i.e. when you download the normal launcher and try to log into a rockstar account that was created with gta bought on steam you cant login.

Well it is silly to punish others for a few others doing the "bad" practice, there isnt coding available that they can figure out who is who? that to me is silly, like it or not it is.
