And... what does it say? How have you come to this conclusion?
Were story mode mods involved?

That answered that question.

You have battleye enabled/checked in the R* launcher / settings?
You do NOT have -nobattleye in game launch options in steam?
There is no -nobattleye in commandline.txt in the game folder?
There is no args.txt in the game folder?
(at least 1 comes via scripthook if you extract 'all' of the files in /bin)
Those are the now - 4 things to check.

Have you run gta5_be.exe 4 from command prompt to uninstall battleye and try to reinstall?

Many info here to 'disable' battleye - just do the reverse -
(mostly what was asked above)

What... does your error... say? Questions are simple to answer.
Did you use storymode mods? The other thread of yours says 'yes'.
(I guess the next question is - did you actually remove the mods?)

So - you are back to checking 4 common things preventing battleye from working -

Is battleye checked in the R* launcher/settings? If not - why not? Check it.
Are you using -nobattleye in the steam gta5 launch options? Remove it.
Are you using -nobattleye in commandline.txt in your gta5 game folder? Delete it.
Is there a args.txt in your gta5 game folder? Delete it.

edit - good to hear, have fun~

thank you so much psykoteky my gta now works
If it isn't in the game folder- don't worry about it. It isn't generally a vanilla file there.
steam / steamapps / common / grand theft auto v - or wherever you have it installed.
