Sorry, we are unable to handle your request at this time.
Launcher has been a pain in the ass for a few days now demanding I manually type the damned email/pass after every boot instead of remembering like its supposed to.

Got tired of it nagging me so did a fresh install of the launcher, didn't help so I went to the Rockstar site and it won't let me login, I'm logged in on the client, just not the website, either the main page or tech support section, presumably the same login server. Error is as follows:

"Sorry, we are unable to handle your request at this time.
long ass code followed by #1.000.7"

Anyone got an idea, are they just slammed because of the patch or am I just forbidden login assistance because I'm required to login to get login assistance...

Did you resolve this ? Just bought red dead redemption 2 for steam deck and it's throwing me the same error.
Nope, gave up, not bothered since.
How I Fixed Rockstar Games Login Error #1.000.7 on My Steam Deck

After running into a frustrating issue where I couldn’t log into the Rockstar Games Launcher on my Steam Deck—specifically encountering the error code #1.000.7—I was finally able to resolve it using a workaround that involved another computer. This method helped me get past the login error and properly link my Steam and Rockstar accounts. If you’re having the same problem on your Steam Deck, this approach might work for you too.

Step 1: Use a Secondary Computer

The first thing I did was use a separate computer—not my Steam Deck. The specs of this second computer don’t matter too much; it just needs to have enough storage space to install a Rockstar game. It doesn’t need to be high-performance or gaming-capable. The goal is simply to use it as a platform to get your Rockstar account linked and verified.

Step 2: Install a Small Rockstar Game

To keep the process quick, I chose to install Red Dead Redemption (RDR1) on the second computer. I picked this game specifically because it has a relatively small file size compared to other Rockstar titles, which meant less download time and faster setup.

Step 3: Launch the Game and Log In

After downloading and installing the game, I launched Red Dead Redemption. This automatically triggered the installation of the Rockstar Games Launcher. Once it finished setting up, I was prompted to log into my Rockstar account. This time, on this second computer, the login went through without any issues—no error code #1.000.7.

Step 4: Link Rockstar Account with Steam

After logging in, the launcher asked if I wanted to link my Rockstar account with my Steam account. I went ahead and completed the linking process. During this step, I also agreed to Rockstar’s various policies, terms, and conditions. I made sure to enable cloud saves as well.

Once I reached the main menu of the game, I exited out.

Step 5: Confirm Account Linking in a Browser

Next, I opened a web browser and visited the Rockstar Games website. After logging into my Rockstar account there, I checked the “Linked Accounts” section. Sure enough, my Steam account was now listed as linked, confirming that everything was properly synced.

Step 6: Restart Steam Deck and Launch Red Dead Redemption 2

I then went back to my Steam Deck, restarted it just to be safe, and launched Red Dead Redemption 2. This time, instead of being prompted with a login screen (and that annoying error code), I was asked if I wanted to enable cloud saves. That prompt was the key indicator that everything had been set up correctly.

I selected “yes,” and the game loaded without any login issues.

Final Notes

This fix was specifically for my Steam Deck, which had been stuck with error #1.000.7 and refused to let me log in to Rockstar’s services directly. By using another computer to install a Rockstar game, log in, and link accounts, I was able to bypass the problem entirely.

It’s a bit of a workaround, but if you’re experiencing this same issue on your Steam Deck, especially when trying to play games like Red Dead Redemption 2 or GTA V, this method could save you a lot of headaches.

Nope. I much rather get a residential one next... Even if it costs 50 bucks IDGAF.
I’m having this problem with RDR2 but don’t have a secondary computer. What else could I try?

I have the opposite issue, my steam deck works but PC will not. lol
https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/s/zHBSuNNdpJ This has the answer that worked for me on steam deck. Need to change your desktop time zone to match your rockstar one.
I literally just changed my time from GMT to central European time and it worked! After faffing for ages

I can't believe I'm seeing bot accounts writing AI Slop into Steam discussions.
I don't even want to play online. I just want to play the base game. Why do I have to do this nonsense?
