corrupt game data after d/l

after downloading update, game crashes due to "corrupt data" - missing err_str ??? note that i was able to get into story mode but when entering online i get splash screen background but no splash screen

I get an error when I connect online. I checked all the game files but nothing helped. So we are waiting for a fix from Rockstar =(

I just did but the more people that do the more they might catch on that the update broke their game. On steam at least anyway.

Delete gtaV folder from rockstar games folder in my documents
you gonna lose ur settings tho

Delete the "Profiles" folder inside Documents->Rockstar games-> GTAV.
If that doesn't help, delete the entire GTAV folder. Keep in mind, your settings will be reset if you do. So best you back up the settings.xml file.

Thanks Boombox deleting the Gta v folder in documents worked all i lost was game settlings and can play online now.

In the gta profile folder delete pc_settings.bin. that worked for me

Do this, I just deleted everything apart from the control folder in my profile folder and that worked for me but I suspect it's just the one file.

go to ingame settings > voice chat > turn everything off. that way you dont have to delete your settings and the online will work just fine
