guess this is a better outcome than suing everyone when they release their own version of fivem.

All I saw was.

We took over Fivem.
We will milk elements of its code for gta6.
We will make sure there are no alternative platforms to play gta6 eg
SixM.

Have a nice day and once again look how much we love the MODDING community over our genuine playerbase of gta online.

there wont be a sixm. because competing products can be sued.

My question is, because I dont fully understand what its all about if im honest.

Rockstar are always talking about what everyone else is doing but not what they are doing lol.

Will this possibly bring FiveM mods to gta online ?

it wont likely be for gtaonline but for gta6's rumored RP themed online component.

crazy imagine how it started
https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/3wfdi8/taketwo_sued_the_fivem_creator_ntauthority_and/
finally they accepted that pc community differs from console plebs

i wonder if this means we finally get the advanced and enhanced version of the game
aka fivem is implemented into the real gtaonline with its server browser etc and you can finally enjoy mods online with your friends
while take2 simply gets their shares from nopixel subscriptions

over 10k vehicles waiting to be installed
full conversion of the game like zombietown or this police mod
over 10k new clothes items
over 1000 new weapons

but i wonder what the other companies say when it comes to licencing and copyright
are the disney lawyer already preparing to sue the ♥♥♥♥ out of r* if fivem is now official
while they use their ip's without paying.
many of these cars are excact replica of the real life and these stupid brands can become really annoying one of the reasons why R* used the fake brands

You do understand that fivem is not creating or hosting these branded things, right? Those are just third party mods that are being streamed from private/player owned servers. FiveM just offers the base.

Community created things are out of developers control which is why they never caused issues.

so it is the classic onion game, where they outsource responsibility to the server host?

What are you using now to play spongebob vs spiderman?
i can remember other modding communities where this type of skins was quickly removed from the modding platform or made invisible for the average internet user without a mod acc

It's the first step tho, rockstar will probably shut it down once they come out with their own version.

R* is running out of lame ass ideals for DLC's.
Don't overthink $%#@.

i think it is hard to pitch some good ideas in such a big company
https://screenrant.com/gta-3-xbox-exclusive-microsoft-grand-theft-auto/
for example microsoft did not believe in the transition from 2d into 3d, so gta3 became ps2 exclusive for a while

i wonder how this works: for example have a meeting in rdr2 and pitch an indian dlc
while the ceos just go crazy. Hell no this is a cowboy game. we don't want an indian lifes matter crontroversy. haven't you seen what they did to bud light.

or in gta: i have an idea for a cops and fire fighter dlc
ceo response: hell no this grand theft auto and not grand police auto
jimmy from law department joins zoom: yeah no, apb reloaded or the need for speed creators could sue us for copy rights infringement. EA has an copyright on car chases between cops and racers

here is one such example which delayed development for 20 years
https://www.eff.org/de/deeplinks/2015/12/loading-screen-game-patent-finally-expires
you could had played some penetrator instead of staring at the clouds forever but bandai namco sad no

I'm excited for this as policies for FiveM are lifted, this means I can finally freely make servers without having to worry about facing legal action.
I've had plans for this but the legal restrictions were the only thing keeping me away.

Hopefully it isn't like any other server where the owner or admins are on a power trip and issue bans left and right if you attack others.

just depends on your mods you choose and the monetization rule. if you are taking money for your server or involved in an income based server you may see a lawsuit still.
