Windows 10 - Won't go full screen, stuck in windowed mode
Anyone else getting this. The resolution seems to be set correctly but I can't get rid of this white title bar at the top of the screen.

EDIT: And now it decides to work!! The game started up in windowed 800x600 allowed me to set it to full screen with Alt-Enter. Then in game I was able to set it to 1080p120 and it works fine. I guess Windows 10 has a few kinks in it to be ironed out.

First thing is make sure that there is no window open to allow GTA V access through the Windows firewall. Then when on the windowed game screen press alt+Enter and that should make it full screen without the title bar again.

Firewall? What in the world does that have to do with anything?

I had to uninstall/reinstall Nvidia drivers/experience to fix this,

I didn't need to but I had done a couple of restarts to fix another issue related to my soundcard. Probably more Windows 10 weirdness where my soundcard refused to send audio to my mixer. Removing the driver and restarting fixed this so perhaps it also fixed my full screen issue. I never had these problems till I upgraded to Windows 10 so I assume this is the reason.

Hold down (shift + alt + enter) at the same time. You will hopefully get fullscreen mode.

If you all look up to my first post you will see I already used Alt-Enter to fix it.....however previous attempts to do this failed and it steadfastly refused to go full screen, stuck in Windowed mode with the white title bar at the top.

If we all wait a few minutes someone else will be along in a minute to suggest I try Alt-Enter. <rolls eyes>

Right click on it in the libary and hit properties. Type this in -full

Ah, you mean under 'Launch Options'? The link below shows a long list of command line switches you can use:

http://www.ibtimes.co.in/gta-5-pc-complete-list-command-lines-default-controls-cheat-codes-invincibility-maximum-629210

So I note that 'full' isn't on there, but perhaps this method of doing it, via a short text file, has different syntax than making the changes directly? Who knows.....

You can also go in the Game cfg and change the screen resolution there. You can also get better graphics my tweaking some settings. Perhaps this works.

This may or may not help, but I did figure out that my issue was caused by my monitor's settings (projector really) not being detected properly. It was defaulting to 30Hz refresh rate and sometime an incorrect resolution. I changed this in the NVidia display properties to force 1080p, 60Hz, and full dynamic range. I'm connected via HDMI. Those changes fixed this and other issues (like Fallout 4 not launching from Steam properly - had a black screen that never went away).
