Framedrops do happen but not often
you will be fine on W10 , just make sure you wipe and re-install your Video drivers
and if you have an Nvidia Card DONT install Geforce experiance , it can cause problems with W10

Formatting is not an option for some; you can do clean installer and have your old OS stay behind in Windows.old
For many that is best bet though; as they'll still be able to revert back to previous OS if needed.
Once u feel Win10 is good for you; redo the process with a full drive wipe + clean install. After you backup any needed files of course.
