[SPOILERS] How did Trevor figure out who is in Michael's grave?

[SPOILERS]
[SPOILERS]
[SPOILERS]

It has always puzzled me how Trevor actually manages to figure out what happened in North Yankton at the beginning of the game and who is buried in Michael's grave.

I've finished the game and read online Wiki's and Googled a lot, but I can't seem to find anything or anyone that can explain how Trevor actually manages to figure out that Brad is in Michael's grave and not just a load of sand or whatever to add the realistic weight.

I mean Trevor is writing to who he fully believes is Brad in prison (whom Dave Norton is actually writing the letters), throughout the game Trevor seems 100% convinced that Brad is alive and well in prison and goes on about breaking him out, so he seems completely convinced that he is alive.

Then we come to near the end of the game (Bury the Hatchet) where Trevor seems to suddenly figure out who is in the grave (somehow he assumes there HAS to be a person in there in the first place). Then suddenly loses it and flies off to North Yankton to dig up Michael's grave.

I don't think there's anything in-game that seems to explain how he suddenly worked it out. All I can find is Michael just going "I dunno, he used his head." This just doesn't make any sense at all to me on how it comes on out of the blue.

Can anyone who's well informed with the game or just has a different perspective on it try and explain it for me?

Thanks.

Trevor is crazy and Micheal is obviously not in the grave. Also, Micheal was extremely apprehensive about breaking Brad out of jail...he kept dodging it. So Trevor kinda put it together. He is crazy...not stupid.

So look at it from Trevs perspective. The person you are talking to probably isn't Brad (sure it sounds crazy...but Trevor is crazy enough to come up with this ♥♥♥♥ on his own). Micheal isn't dead and is in unofficial witness protection from corrupt government agents. He also isn't in any rush to break Brad out...which makes Trev suspicious. If Brad was killed, where would he be?

I guess, but Michael seemed to be giving off the impression that they would think about Brad after they do the 'big score', rather than not bother with him at all.

Michael isn't dead, no and he is witness protection, but that still doesn't mean Brad is dead. I would have thought the letters would have kept Trevor fully convinced that he is alive.

It just doesn't make sense how there could just have easily been some sand or whatever could simulate a bodies' weight in the coffin instead, rather than it having to be a person.

I thought it was just a simple "well if you're not dead, then who the ♥♥♥♥ is in the ground?"

See that is the thing. Michael kept putting it off and evading Trevors questions about Brad. Why? Why did it HAVE to be after the big heist? There is no real reason to wait. That is a bit suspicious right?

Ultimately, it is just that. If Micheal isn't dead...then who the ♥♥♥♥ is in the casket? Since Trev already commited every other crime in the world 500 times over...why should he refrain from diggging up a grave? Isn't Micheals grave, and if Micheal is being honest then nobody is in the grave. But Trevor knows Micheal is lying. So he isn't really surprised when the poor bastard in the casket turns out to be Brad.

Oh come on. He meant how did he come up with the idea of traveling half way across the country and digging up the grave. You know what he means.
