wheres my character?

so i log on the gta online and instead of putting me through to los santos, it takes me to the character creation screen to make a new character. and my main isnt there?!! anybody else have this problem?

im still having the same problem and the status says its up for all platforms. :S I hope this issue gets sorted out soon.

i havent had the chance to try this yet, but here is the response i got from rockstar:

We are sorry to hear that you are facing an issue with the save data could not be downloaded. Usually the error occurs because of network connection problems. If you are still facing with the same problem, we kindly request you to follow the below workaround steps, which will help to resolve this issue:

Go to My Documents > Rockstar Games >GTA V
Copy the Entire Folder and create a Back up on the Desktop
Delete the everything in the folder GTA V (Make sure they are deleted after a backup is created).
Launch the game (It will start from the prologue)
Pause the game and copy over the save file "SGTA50015" + "SGTA50015.bak".
Within the pause menu, click and load the save game.
Once you've loaded, you will be able to load online again. Kindly let us know if you are still faced with difficulties in launching online gameplay.

thank god i though i screwed up somehow its not only me.24 hours ago i played fine then 3-4 hours later i tried to get online from story mode and me character is gone.funny thing when i try to change character the fast way(pressing alt) the image of my char is there but no stats and when i press it it goes to creator.hope they find solution fast

exactly the same for me stoupis - although i dont think online stats are shown that way via the offline single player anyway. i tried the fix i was sent but i didnt work. i really hope i havent lost my char ;_;

i dont really care for my char.i got into online about 5 days ago and i keep getting kicked for being low level(17) and getting insulted from 10 year olds...anyway my problem is i had the preorder package with 500k and i spent it so if i were to create a new one and dont have the money i would be very pissed

okay so i got a fix. this is exactly what i did. i just went ahead and created a new player almost identical to my main. sure enough, i was level 1 and lost everything BUT my money. i did not do the tutorial. i then went back to single player using the characcter wheel in the bottom right and switched to trevor.

then i paused the game and went to character select on the online tab. it took me back to the character creation screen and BAM. lvl 27 character back with all her stats, cars, appartments, everything. i dont know how closly you have to follow what i did but it worked and boy is it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ satisfying.

Guys worked for me as well with the appearance of the second character though. Otherwise everything is back the way it was.See you online :D
