Fix for crash on launch issue

I bought the game 3 days ago, after making sure my computer would be okay to run the game by downloading the cracked version and try it out. Everything was fine, so fine, I decided to buy it after some 10 hours of play, I was at the first heist mission.

I installed the steam version, uninstalled the cracked version, and never been able to play. I was loading two stars, and it would crash.

I must have tried like 30 different "possible" fixes. Nothing worked.

Sent a support ticket, got the useless generic cut and paste reply that told me to do steps I already told them I had done in my support ticket. Brilliant.




SO WHAT IS THE FIX!?!?!?

Like there is one. The best of fix is, REFUND. Yeah, I got refunded the game, and I will keep playing the cracked version.

That's right. The RELOADED version with update 5 works brilliantly. Screw rockstar.

Re-Install / Update Nvidia Drivers.

Restart Steam/PC Multiple times.

Set GTA V to run as admin.

Turn off Anti-Virus and Firewall.

Verify integrity of the cache.

Download rockstar social club exe that everyone says "WOW IT WORKED" until you get the (Code 2) error which is probably worse than it not launching at all. (Don't bother)

Re-installing Social Club.

Setting Social club to admin.

Moving social club into your GTA V directory.

Getting a friend to send you there PlayGTAV.exe or GTAV.exe because you are missing one.

Re-installing GTA V. (Don't bother)

Disabling my GPU and then launching the game. (However this is is a termporary fix for people with 2 GPU's / Laptops.

Disabling my GPU then launching the game via all GTA V's .exe's.

Windows user name new account.

Uninstalling Anti-Virus software. (Works for some)

Disableing in-game overlay.

Installing windows updates.

Reinstalling DirectX and SP1.

Moving the Social Club folder to the driver your GTA root folder is located in.



Yeah... these are "fixes" you can try to get your game to work.. thats pathetic.

Deinstall recording tools like d3dgear would help also, looks like anticheatprotection of gta5 dont likes such stuff.

You shouldnt comment about abusing refund system and keep on playing cracked version of the game without owning the legit one.

lol, people are making videos on youtube, showing how to fix gta, and you clearly see they are using straight up a cracked version... like if rockstar care anyway.

If you read my other post fully, you would know that I already tried that, and in fact was the first thing I tried.

But curiously, the (cracked) game works fine with d3dgear and I can record.

And I'm not abusing the refund system. I'm refunding a game that never worked for me, even after 3 days of wasting my time trying to get it to work. That's about as much as I can afford to get a 70$ game to work.

And I will proudly say that I'm using the cracked version.

Report me if you wish, I couldn't care less.

Also, like I will pay for a game, that I have to use a cracked version that doesn't even have all the updates to it, cannot play online, etc... you must be out of your mind.

And chances are, R* will never fix this in 14 days, so as well refund it now. Already spent 106 mins seeing those two stars load and crash. Too much if you ask me.

Now go lick R*'s 4$$. I bet it tastes good.
