Thanks! That worked for me!
HI I did, I followed your advice but no change. Since then I have uninstalled and reinstalled social club and GTAV completely, launched the game with no firewall on and tried to launch from the steam app folder using the exe.
I can sign into social club so I know there's no problems with that. I am completely stumped!
That is why some people can run it and some not .
If you installing Windows 10 and GTA 5 be prepared to have issues with it .
Have you just purchased the game or just downloaded now? If purchased you can get a refund from steam.
Some people should buy a console and dont try to play on pc.
You better pay another 50 bucks for some computer lessons on the public community college in your neighborhood.
Can you give some more details about the crash?
Did you already checked the Event viewer about the crash log?
click start button of win10> searchline enter Eventviewer> start the eventviewer > in the eventviewer click on windows protocolls, then application> check the Info in the middle of the window for failure messages related to the gta5.exe application.
pls post this crash log especially if any .dll file has caused it, "direct input failure" or "err_gfxd3d_init"?
Error message is not specific enough.
another good thread maybe you will find a solution there
A lot of third party programs + certain antivirus software(you have to create an exeption for gta5 folder) lead to trouble when trying to play gta5
for example
Astrill vpn tool
Sandori toolbar
D3dger recording tool
Watchdog app for smartphones, not the game
it is not enough to deactivate them, you have to deinstall them in most cases, when you want to play gta5 at the moment.
Outdated driver which were not correct deinstalled before the installation of newer ones can cause trouble too.
Check your firewall if gta5 is allowed to communicate.
Eventviewer can always help when gta is crashing because it indicates the broken modules or .dll, which causing the problem.
Sometimes files were corrupted in the gta folder because it is 60gb big.
Check integrity of the game
click in Libary right click on gta5> property/Option > gamedata > check game data for failure
