check power supply. check power connectors, re-seat your gfx card and be sure to DDU your drivers and install the latest ones.
also dx files could be bugged, vcred etc. also any 3rd party usb devices or software.
so many things can cause this its not funny.
just freeze screen, no audio or anything else. waited along time but nothing happens.
cant see anything logged in eventviewer except unexpected shutdown.
seems to only happen in GTA 5 so far tho, i tried alot of other games with max setttings but run without problems.
overwatch, cod: cold war, Warzone, escape from tarkov, hitman 2, pubg.
Got any tips on other GPU heavy games to try ?
i figured it was the power to GPU so ill look into that.
run Unigine Superposition maxed out for a reasonable test.
If this happens under load check your PSU connectors or if your PSU is fully capable of supplying the power needed for your GPU.
i do have 1000W PSU, ran hardware monitor and power from GPU peak at 389W
i will open up and check
Also if you are getting a blue screen, use the following tutorial to set windows to write a minidump.
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5560-configure-windows-10-create-minidump-bsod.html
Once you set windows to do minidumps, you can use a program to read those blue screen errors to find the exact driver causing issues.

sorry no bluescreens, never got one so far only freezing without any logs that can help me.
Freshly installed win10 with drivers from nvidia.
I did run Unigine Superposition maxxed out
No idea why it work withou freeze or crash
i did however changed XMP profile in bios and played a session of black ops last night with only 1 crash but it was just game crash, no need to reboot.
the next you need to look at is your drivers, while they are fresh that doesn't rule them out.
you need to DDU them in safe mode and reinstall them.
https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
some times when with a fresh install of windows there are conflicts with windows update forcing drivers it thinks you need. Best thing to do is just wipe them out and start over.
same with directx files.
same with vcred files.
