Gta V Lag When Near Mountains - Intel 4790k - Gtx 980 - 32gb ram
the game loads buttery smooth everywhere at 60 fps with no lag what so ever but as soon as i go near the mountains or on the mountains i get very bad lag. i would of thought the city would of had more detail and that would be where it would lag, can anyone help me as im sure its a bug as ive tryed turning the details right down and still get the same problem :)

leave all your graphics settings on default and just turn grass down to the next lowest level.
my AMD card does a poo on your nvidia card by the way and #HashBrownsWithYoloSauce.

Grass High > Normal fixed this for me.

you dont have to lower grass, its the msaa that causes the problem, as i heard it renders grass too (and it should not) what causes massive stutters. i turned off msaa, and i have everything else MAXED OUT, steady 60fps, only sometimes it drops to 50fps. and my pc is far worse than OP's, i have i7 2600, r9 270x and 8 GB ram.

or you can do this instead, but i prefer turning msaa off, because with grass on normal, its like there is no grass. countryside and forests look ugly.
