Gta V Stutter/Menu lag/sound freezing
Hi, i reinstalled gta V after not playing for a while and the game is unplayable.
gtx 970
i7 4790k
16gb ram
game runs on SSD
Fresh reinstall of windows 10
all drivers up to date
I tried to benchmark the game, i have 90 fps but it stutters every 2 seconds, the sound stops too, the menu is lagging and stutters

FIX: Remove Razer surround
Fix: Go to device manager and disable "Nvidia High definition audio"
It fixed my stuttering problems.

Enable V sync to remove pause menu stuttering. It stutters in the pause menu with vsync off because it's rendering at a very high framerate and it pushes the CPU to 100%, so then the CPU stops GTA5 for a bit to recover CPU utilisation before it does it again. Enabling vsync removes pause menu stuttering.

Hey just want to say thank the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ for you for about 6 months I havent been able to play trying to figure out why the ♥♥♥♥ my game was stuttering every 2 seconds but disabling razer surround and nvidia audio device drivers fixed it. YOU HAVE NO IDEA the ♥♥♥♥ I went through to try to troubleshoot this problem..I reinstalled probably 3 times, thot it was a memory allocation problem so I changed my pagefile a zillion times, but in the end was just a driver issue lol guess this ♥♥♥♥ just happens when running 660TIs. Still get 60+ fps in all new games on high textures so cant complain too much.

other option, leave vsync on and check that the audio device you are using is set to 16bit, 48000Hz. This setting is found under windows control panel/hardware and sound/ sound/playback tab/advanced tab...fixes menu stutter in windows 10.

This actually helped even just a little.
