Purchaced helicopter not appearing?

I bought a helipad in single player and then bought a helicopter. I have been waiting a while and the helicopter has still not appeared at the helipad. Is there anything I am doing wrong?

Things you buy in GTA don't appear instantly. Try going to bed and it should be there when you get up.

Have you gone to the helipad and pressed E to select a vehicle? It may be there but not visible until selected.

Where do I walk on the helipad to select it?

Nevermind I found the right pad. I have one more question though. If I leave a helicopter lying around and leave the area will it get returned to the helipad, impounded, or disappear?

It'll return to the helipad, even if it's destroyed.
