GTA V Completely crashes pc
Almost a year ago I made the same post about this and I said I managed to fix it. At that time I did, now keeps happening, even doing what I did in the past to solve it.

It shuts down the computer and restarts. Why ? I don't have an idea, it's not overheating or related cuz I changed the thermal paste 10 days ago and bought a new PC case with 4 fans. Also I've tested with some programs the temperature and it's normal, for me at least (59ºC-67ºC) and if I'm not mistaking, the max. temperature for my processor is 95ºC.

What I didn't say was that the method I used a year ago to play, was to underclock my video card. -20 Core Clock / -120 Memory Clock. Now, as I said before, this doesn't work.

My specs are:

-Ryzen 5 1600 Six Core processor 3.2 GHz
-HyperX Fury 8gb x2 (16gb) 2666 MHz
-GeForce RTX 2060 6gb
-WD Blue 1TB
-WD Blue (Notebook) 320gb (Photos and files only)
-SSD Kingston 225 gb
-Power Supply EVGA 700B 80 Plus Bronze

Power Supply or Graphics Card failure. Does it happen with other games? Check power cables make sure they are not loose inside pc, check gpu, cpu, and motherboard cables.

95ºC is pretty high for cpu
my old i7 4790K got at most low 70s at 100% and that was with a Cryorig H7
my current Ryzen 7 3700X never reaches 70 at 100% with Noctua NH-D15

Increase the size of your virtual memory.

Last night, after writing this message, I decided to format my computer. I'm thinking it might have been a driver collision between my old 1050 and my current 2060.
Hoping it does something.

And it used to happen with some Unity games like 7 days to die.

Update:
Keeps crashing the pc after switching some cables and formatting, tbh I don't have a clue why it happens. With my old graphic cards I didn't have any problems

are you getting a Blue screen of death?

Nope, the computer just restarts by itself.

I don't know why this game makes my pc crash, I have played other games that require a high-end PC and I haven't had a problem. (Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, etc.)

did you try a memtest? test you memory?
And yes removing all traces of older drivers could fix this issue, but may not.
You should not have to underclock a GPU from factory settings to run, if that's what worked, your GPU may be going dead. If you overclocked it then underclocked it, that may not be so bad. Like mentioned, your PSU could be going out also, as soon as the power demand goes up, the PSU fails.
So verify no older drivers exist first, then if you can confirm whether you overclocked then underclocked, would be helpful, So I can understand why underclocking worked

I've never overclocked the card, actually, it's almost brand new, I bought it in October / November 2021. When I decided to underclock it, it wasn't my idea, at the time I was talking with a friend and we decided to play GTA, I told him that my computer crashed and he told me, "That used to happen to me in Battlefield 4 and other games, I underclocked my card and the crashing stopped"

I did what he told me and seemed to work at the time. 3 days ago my friends and I agreed to play this weekend and I found out that the underclocking technique didn't work. I verified the game's files, increased virtual memory, checked if there was a loose cable on the computer and nothing worked.

I have to clarify that this also happens with some Unity games as I mentioned before, like 7 days to die (I don't remember rn any other Unity games that I had trouble with)

I'm thinking in buying a new PSU as it has a custom fan, I broke the original one and replaced it like 3 years ago. Might be the overheating thing, but I dissasembled it and it's not even close to hot.

The ram units are almost new too, I used to have a problem long ago and I found out that one of the rams was faulty, so I bough the HyperX Fury that I listed in the top of the post.

Also, the computer has been formatted, so it's clean as ever. I've updated every driver, installed DirectX and all that stuff.

Run a cpu and gpu stresstests at the same time and see if it shuts down. If it does and temps still in check it's psu or ram. Memtest is easy to run, run all sticks if you want, if it fails run one at a time.

I still think it's just running out of memory and for some reason (maybe game installed on non C drive) windows ain't allocating more space.

go ahead and run a simple memory test since no extra software is needed.
If that comes back good, I'd try swapping the PSU see if it fixes your issues, if it doesn't then return it. at least use it to test everything out.
The problem with PSU is they lose capability over time, So it just might not be handling the load which is why underclocking worked.

I really doubt it's the ram, I mean, it's new. But I'll do it just to be 100% sure.

The thing is why does this only happen with CERTAIN unity games and with GTA V ? That's the part that I don't understand.

Because some games spike ram and put it to full use, some don't. Ram can easily go bad, even after the first year of owning it. it's not uncommon.
Doubt it's this also, but running a memtest will confirm it;s not the issue and it's a easy test to run to rule out memory as a issue. when troubleshooting, you always do the easiest things first that could cause issues.
