Purchased a property: Smoke on the Water and no income?

Did I miss a step or something? Everytime I have driven by the property (yes, I did have enough money for it), there hasn't been an option to do the missions for it and I don't seem to be getting income for it? Again did I miss something or does it just not produce money?

Your get random calls on your phone about missions for propertys.doing missions for propertys will cause the rent you recive to go up or down ...and rent gained is once a game week if i recall right...so the more propertys you have the more cash you generate..
