Missed payment to mechanic...
So as you've read in the title, I have recently missed payment to my mechanic after spending all of my money on the low riders update... After earning some cash and playing for the last few days, my mechanic still wont return. Upon reading other threads and Rockstar forum threads, it seems that it is expected of us to wait a whole "in real life" hour (without playing missions or leaving a freeroam lobby) before he returns and the money is deducted from my wallet or bank.

My question is; Is this a bug? or does rockstar really think this was great idea? To play any part of the game besides freeroam causes the time to reset... For two days now I've had no mechanic, and I still don't. Somehow though, the utilities bill still seems to get paid the minute I get cash...

Rockstar needs to fix this...!

The point to this post, was to bring this to further discussion and to inform others of this issue, so that they can be aware that when they spend all of their cash... you'll be screwed on requesting your vehicle for at least 1 whole irl hour while waiting in the same freeroam.

no it's not a bug, it just the game mechanics saying if you have over 300 hours online, a high-end apartment but can't pay 150 bucks per week for an auto mechanic you really shouldn't be able to have one...ever.

Gee, 1 hr doesn't sound like too harsh of a punishment for stiffing your mechanic. Think of it as time you have to spend to find a new mechanic, one that will personally deliver cars to anyplace you want, all for $150 a week. Yeah good luck trying to find someone like that.

1: All apartments with a garage have mechanics... so its not like having a high end apartment has anything to do with it.. And yeah, I have over three hundred hours in GTA, but you obviously havn't seen the price of ♥♥♥♥ in this game... Doesn't matter how much cash you have (unless your a hacker) R will make sure to milk you of what you have earned, if you want the latest stuff..

2: "1 hour doesn't sound like too harsh of a punishment"... So why is it even excepted that punishment is even needed? Especially considering that being "broke" is pretty much punishment as it is? Also "Stiffing the mechanic" would imply that he did something for me, only for me to not pay him... Its not like he delivers your cars, then asks for payment...In reality you pay, then he delivers. If anything, he's the one stiffing me by not providing the service... Regardless, he's just rockstar's coding.. its not as if some guy literally has it against me for not paying a bill... I mean, cmon.. how silly. And yes... 1 hour is BS..

3: I was never complaing about the price of a mechanic; I simply made the choice of leaving myself broke after buying a few cars, at which I was then going to continue earning cash. This by far, does not entitle that I am a noob... I just use my cash when I get it... people who hoard cash does not mean they are pro players. And, just because I didn't know the game has a rediculous punishment system, also does not make me undeserving of a high-end apartment... (which again, has nothing to do with any of this)... lmao.

4: Again, the purpose to this thread was to bring this rediculous punishment system to light, since nowhere in the game does it describe this wait time if you fail to make your payment... its simply a thing that will occure to you after the fact...

5: By reading other threads, it is completely aparent that most people don't even understand that you cannot even play a heist or mission or otherwise it resets; which results in them (and I) being without a car for several days until we finally read something after doing research...Is that our fault... hell no...

Ok, while I do agree this punishment is a bit harsh, I do understand why it's in the game. HOWEVER, I do have a few suggestions for how it could be implemented better:
1. It shouldn't have to be an hour straight. AN hour straight is something a lot of players won't stand for. If it was total in freemode, then yeah, I could go with that.
2. It should be explained in game. It took me several hours of research to find this information out, and it was never explained in game.
3. There should be an option to pay off the mechanic for missed payments, such as a re-entry fee for missed payments to make up for them.
4. A notification when the time is up. I never can tell when I've finished the "punishment", because I never get told when I have.
