My friends can't join closed crew session/invite only session

1. Only one friend can join at a time and the other one completely can't even if they try joining through various methods and even going thru the thing that pops up when you click 'home'
2. When i invite them through the 'home' button, the game invite disappears when they click it
3. When they click 'join game' on my profile, i receive the notification but i cannot find the button to invite them to the game and again, they can't see the invite anyway

I can't seem to find a thread or anything helpful or something that works online so any help would mean so much to us!

Wouldn't it be easier if you both were in the game and you send him an invite through the "friends" tab in the in game menu? I've never heard of anyone joining someone's game through Social Club (the home button thingy).
