So nothing new
Or they could not allow you to partake in such activities at all if it doesn't fit the character's personality, like Arthur in Red Dead Redemption II.
Like GTA V, we got Franklin, Michael and Trevor, in VI we have Lucia and whatshisname and you'll be able to switch between them either manually just like in previous game, or during certain points in the story. So no, there's no "strickly female character now", there are two protagonists of which one happens to be female. A big deal, really.
Oh yes a "whaman belongs to the kitchen" trope. XD
Actually there are female soldiers in the world fighting for all people, so a woman shooting at gangs, stealing cars and blowing up the whole city is possible, it's not unrealistic, it's just depending on the woman's background. There are street gangs, with female gang members in real life, and even in the previous GTA game(s), if you hadn't noticed. So it's not like Lucia would be a snowflake, she's of a hispanic lineage, those are temperament, from the trailers she seems like a tough gurl. And she has a tracking device on her ankle, implying she had some trouble with the law previously, so she's definitely not that "kitchen type", more like a "bad gurl" type.
The game's not out yet, so we have no info on how the transition between both protagonists will play out, but given the recent history with R*, I'd think it won't be much different from the 3 protagonists of GTA V. Meaning you'll be able to play as the guy most the time and swich to Lucia only during some missions, or you could switch to her at any time outside of missions. The important word here is "could". So it will be an option. An option you don't have to use, if you don't want. So you'll be "forced" to use her only during certain essential missions during the story. No more, no less. At least that's my guess. We'll have to wait till the game releases.
