Absolutely insane. Had Rockstar linked and the latest update required me to authenticate my email account that was deleted a year ago, so no way to verify. Followed their instructions for unlinking Steam and Rockstar then linking to my current email. Except the activation code is in use, by my old account that was unlinked and they know it was my account as I had to go through the process of providing proof of the purchase. Worse yet is it appears that even if I delete GTA V from Steam and purchase another copy that I would receive the same activation code that is coming back as in use.

Lol that does not solve the problem for my. Have tried the following things.
ReStArTeD StEaM/PC
Uninstalled, then went through and manually deleted any trace of gta V AND social club.
Freshly updated installation
Contacted R* got no response.

If you ask them to unlink, they warn you what's gonna happen. Not sure why you went all the way of unlinking and not reading what's told, when you could've just recovered that account.
