Consoles are a waste of money. I got a stack of consoles that are collecting dust while my PC runs every title I own, old or new.
PS3/360 - We’re talking sub-1080p, barely scraping 30fps. But it was GTA V, so it was magic already. But then we got the next-gen…
PS4/Xbox One - This was a massive leap! Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, wild animals, random debris... the entire world felt more alive. The visuals, too, had a big upgrade—crisper, more vibrant. And the traffic? Felt like a real city.
PC - The cherry on top. If you had the rig, you could crank it up to 4K with a silky-smooth 60fps (even higher if you went 120Hz). Not to mention turning density up even further, sharper textures, and improved effects. It felt like a polished evolution every step of the way.
So for me, each jump made sense, and each was a noticeable improvement in immersion and gameplay. It's been a wild ride, and even though they're dragging their feet on updates, every version has been a solid upgrade on what came before.
My last console was a PS2, which I still have and enjoy from time to time -> I'm never buying the new consoles, as their pretty much useless when compared to the sheer amount of features that a PC can offer.
