That's because support isn't enabled on BattlEye's servers for GTA5. Unless Rockstar has Linux support enabled on BattlEye's side, GTAO will forever be unplayable on Linux.
All I know is I don't expect unique and creative quality content from this company anymore. After this addition of BattlEye stunt they've pulled after thirteen years of neglect, it's shown Rockstar does not care about the cheating situation in the slightest except when it brings them money. They only care about the sales gained through manipulation and deception. Bank notes matter. That's the only reason BattlEye is here. Manipulation. Deception. Sales. That's the Rockstar way.
