1. Load into Story Mode before Online: Instead of directly entering GTA Online, load into Story Mode first and then go online via the pause menu. This can significantly reduce loading times.

2. Verify the integrity of game files: If some game files are corrupted or missing, this can lead to long loading times. Steam or Epic Games Launcher has a file integrity verification feature that can repair missing or corrupted files.

3. Update Graphics Card Drivers and Operating System: Make sure your graphics card drivers and operating system are updated to the latest versions. This can improve game performance and reduce loading times.

4. Free up disk space: Make sure there is enough free space on the drive where the game is installed. Not enough free space can slow down the game and increase loading times.

5. Close unnecessary background applications: Close any unnecessary programs running in the background to free up system resources for the game. This is especially important on systems with limited resources.

6. Check your internet connection: Online mode requires a stable internet connection. Check the speed and stability of your connection to make sure it is not the cause of long load times.

If the problem persists after following these steps, you may want to contact Rockstar Support for further assistance.

Sheesh, you kids nowadays!

I remember Baldurs Gate back in the day on five separate discs that had to be swapped periodically.

No complaints about load times.

Those were the days...

you are mental if you think rpg players wouldn't have complained if they could have. Its more that a platform exist TOO call out complaints and you in here going "bro people shouldn't complain ever" is so bog brained.

If there was a steam discussion when baldurs gate 2 came out you know mfs would say it was better/worse than the prior arbitrary. You weren't cut from a different cloth because you had poor access to others opinions/

PSA: This guy has been going around posting AI-generated "answers" on a bunch of different Steam forums, even for games he doesn't own. As such, take "his" advice with the understanding that it's unreliable and not something he has personal experience with.

I, too, remember those days, and I also remember complaining about having to swap discs. I of course understood there were technical limitations, but wishing that storage capabilities were more advanced seemed perfectly reasonable to me at the time.

Even now, wishing that things that I have spent money on simply worked better seems perfectly reasonable to me. Complaining that some games inexplicably have long load times for some areas seems justified to me, especially when modders later go in and fix things to dramatically reduce load times - Mass Effect: Andromeda is the most egregious example of this that I can think of.

The problem with the loading times is once again ****Star screwed up their code and there are code loops making stuff load multiple times that doesn't need to be loaded. They did something similar a few years ago and didn't bother fixing it until a player disassembled their crappy code and pointed out their idiocy, then they went and reintroduced the same (or at least similar symptom-causing) bug a while later, and it's been getting worse and worse over time.
