Is there anyway to save car that is on Simeon's export list?

I just found an Infernus, I took to a mechanic to save it, but all it does is let me respray it since it's on Simeon's list, and when I take it to my garage it says I have to buy it in order to take it in my garage

Not that I'm aware of.
You can steal one off the streets, but there is a dollar amount limit on cars that you steal and try to enter one of your Garages to store it.
If it lets you, then just make sure you get Insurance on the car if you want to keep it.

I was trying to get insurance on it but then I realized Simeon's ass wanted it, genuinely one of the most blue balling moments I've ever had on a game lol

Unfortunately, the Infernus is way above the vehicle price ceiling they have for vehicles you can steal from the street and make your own. The Infernus is also one of the vehicles Rockstar yanked from the in-game websites, so unless it's one of the current random weekly cars available in a showroom or some podium, the only option to get it is to instead find another player who owns it and meet them with their car at the Car Meet. In there you can walk up to the other player's car and buy a clone of it (the money simply disappearing, not paid to the other player).

There's obviously no cars over 100k that you can steal off of the street, but I'm not aware of any hard set dollar value threshold.. A better key to go by is the websites the cars are available from combined with the price.. Affordable cars on SSASA will be able to be stolen and claimed off the street.. if the car is on luxury motors, it's out of the question entirely..

This is because you can only access the Pay N Spray under the conditions of respraying the car for Simeon. It's coded into the "mission".

I did put a crew emblem on one of the cars once, and then Simeon didn't want it.. I'd get a message that says Simeon isn't interested in personal vehicles. I thought: "Holy Crap! I found an exploit to get these cars!" but I was sadly mislead. When I drove to my garage, I got the notice that I had to purchase the car. Took it to Pay N Spray and no longer could enter because the car was too high value.

It's almost as if the game recognized my crew color as making the vehicle personalized, but it was never linked to my character as a personal vehicle. It was in a weird (and useless) state of limbo.. Only Simeon mission to cost me money.. :(
