GTA 5 constant lag spikes near ocean and in rooms
So I have this weird issue, when im flying a plane and I go high in altitude, it starts giving me lag spikes.. But when I change my angle where I'm looking while flying, in some angles it doesnt give lag spikes and gives me this amazing 120 fps super smooth feeling. It is more often to get spikes when im near the ocean or at the airport. When I go sailing it also gives me lag spikes in the ocean. I also get lag spikes when im inside somewhere, like in franklin's safehouse, or do the raid in a chemic lab and have to steal this chemical thing. I dont get lag spikes when im driving in the city or countryside at high speeds or shooting or heavy explosions.

All of this is the same in online.

Im playing on high-very high settings and i get average over 70fps. When I fly a plane it is over 100, but it just gives me minor constant spikes and it is hurting my eyes. Also when im in franklin's safehouse its over 120.

I use fraps to see my fps and sometimes shadowplay. None of them show lag spike numbers, they stay over 70, because these spikes are too fast for the counter to drop, but they are very constant.

I also had this weird stuttering thing with some audio things that i disabled and that fixed the problem which had my game unplayable ( freezing every second for 2 seconds)

I have i5-4690k and gtx 970. I'm not overclocking and i have OK 70 celsius temperature for cpu and 50 for gpu.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks

There is also a steam overlay for fps just in case you didn't know. Secondly, do you have this issue when your settings are turned down or only when they are up? Some people get this issue with tesselation because our AMD cards kind of suck when it comes to tesselation.

I only changed my settings when i first started the game, I didnt have the problem like 3 weeks ago. My settings have always been high-very high since first launch. I have nvidia card

I apologize about that. I wasn't paying attention to the fact that you do have nvidia. Another solution I saw when I had this issue was to make sure I didn't have any remote software open such as Splashtop or Teamviewer, but that was just the solution I had, I doubt you have that software installed. If it just started, it's probably something wrong with the newest update.

I checked my settings and my tesselation is off. I've googled the problem and I haven't found any solutions but other people complaining about the same issue :/

dang. try fxaa and msaa disable. There are so many issues with different solutions, your best bet is trial and error probably... best of luck.

Well your hardware seems fine. If you mute your audio when that happens, try listening to your GPU. Sometimes, you can actually hear noise from the card itself.

What sound could it be? I can't hear anything weird

Sometimes you can hear the strain, and sometimes, the power supply isnt powerful enough, which is another noise you could hear.

I got an expensive PSU, but its 650W, it doesnt do any weird noises and i dont think its the problem, because other games like BF4 and FC4 run absolutely fine on ULTRA settings..

Why always these useless comparisons? They ain't same engine, not even close.. map size/draw distances are way different. You could as easily say " i have no idea about this subject" and save us bit of trouble.

Anyways the solution: get better hardware or tune down your settings. If it was working before, it was because of "silent" patch that downgraded graphics for a while, now that they are back to where they should be you again don't have powerful enough rig.

Also your PSU is way more powerful than you actually need, so don't worry about that in any case.

I still think it's something with the GTA and turning down my settings didnt help, just fps increase but I still have those annoying spikes
