GTA V Texture Pop In Problem Fix (at least for me)
For the longest time I have been struggling to run gta without textures popping in and out, buildings, roads, etc would just appear and dissapear. I had recently bought LA Noire which ran like ♥♥♥♥ and my setup blows the requirements out of the water, I fiddled around and found disabling multi-threading fixed it completely. Went from the laggiest game in the world to smooth and beautiful. After fighting with the same problem in GTA 5, I went searching and found a ton of fixes that seemed to half ass work. After trying the new LSPDFR 0.3 update (police mod) it had an option to turn off hyper-threading. I decided to look into it and found everyone touting how you had to have intel for that to matter. Wrong. I disabled mine and found the graphics fixed and the game to run smooth as all hell.

-disablehyperthreading

Place that into your game loading options by: Right click the game in steam > Properties > Set Launch Options > -disablehyperthreading

Accept the new launch settings, and try it out. Worked like a charm for me. That just makes 2 Rockstar games that have been fixed with that simple command. Hope it works!

Both of these GPUs are abandoned by AMD and have no driver support. Last WHQL drivers are from July, 2015: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy3&os=Windows+10+-+64

These GPUs days were numbered when the announcement that they would be dropping pre-GCN driver support was made. No developer can officially support them now because AMD doesn't.

The problem is that the game ran flawless no problems on an illegal copy that I tried and beat to make sure the game even worked on the machine. Got awesome frames and the game was amazing. Purchased the game, cannot play it. Same hardware and software. There is no excuse for that whatsoever. Stating that the hardware isn't supported here makes no validation due to the fact that I had already installed, ran, beat the game. Not to mention, it's not like I didn't look up the latest driver. You think I would know how to disable hyperthreading in the game or any other commands without knowing how to update my driver? Give me a break.

Knd of embarrassing that a pirated copy is much better than the official release of the game.

I concur entirely. I was so pissed cause I wanted to play online and couldn't due to the issue, but it wasn't a net issue or pc issue cause even the single player acted the same way. Illegal version that I snagged from pirate bay at the time worked flawless, even went back and tried it to great success. However still to this day I still keep trying it out hoping that an update fixes it and still I get missing textures, unless I do the random fixes, and even then still have it when I drive real fast. I will say I have rebeaten the game twice even with the problem, but that's only cause I know where the buildings are supposed to be. Tho every now and then I slam into a wall that doesn't exist lol.

i have no idea why this worked for me but it did, thank you so much. this single command line of all things, on my old intel q9300 dual core that hyperthreads to 4, 2.50ghz, ddr2 ram, motherboard from before 2010, only 2 things upgraded in over a decade: power supply to 450w and a gtx 650 2gb. this computer is mostly a relic and so many games just randomly cant run well still like witcher 3, no mans sky, fallout 4, metro redux, even vanilla skyrim has its issues, and the thing is, i consider 35+ fps to be running well, and in those games i had to play at 720p to get fps out of the 20s lol

I am so glad this thread is still helping people! I'm a firm believer that if you find a fix you post it for others and this shows how much that can help :) Thank You for the response! So people that are reading this, make sure to say on posts that this helped or didn't help, explain why! Don't just fix it and not say anything as we are all in this together you guys!

Thanks again for the words and glad it helped you out :)
