Car not responding (PC)
Hi All

I have a strange thing happening when playing GTA 5 in that my car sometimes doesn’t respond when I press A or D which I use to steer the car. Has anybody else experienced this.

The car not responding dosent happen all the time, just sometimes. Most of the time I can press W to accelerate and A or D to turn and I experience no problems whatsoever. On the odd occassion the car dosent steer when I press A or D it just carries on going forward and then stops. I have pressed 3 keys before without any problems. For example W+A then space to skid. So I cant see it being a regular keyboard problem.

Could be input lag.
Do you get this issue in both Story and Online?

Also, try lowering your graphical settings and/or closing background processes. Could be your CPU is being overworked, causing the "input lag" (GTA V seems quite CPU intensive, especially in full freeroam lobbies).

Have you tried an alternative keyboard, or even a different USB port (assuming it's not an old PS/2 one)?

Out of curiosity, what are your system specs?

I cant see it being my computer. Its certainly powerfull enough to run the game.

I'll take your word for that then (as you haven't posted the specs).

With that in mind, let's assume software issue.
What Operating System are you running?
Does your security software have any 'behavioural' blocking systems? Examples of such would be Defense+ of Comodo or OSFirewall of ZoneAlarm.

Do you have any profile tools installed, such as Logitech Gaming Software or Razer Synapse?

My comp is actually a HP ENVY 700 PC series and I am running Windows 10. As for my security software as far as I know its not blocking anything. Also I dont have any profile tools installed.

Thank you for your help on this matter. Later on I will try another keyboard or though I dont have this problem with any other game I have played.

Are you using the wireless keyboard that comes with that system?
If so, that is the likely cause. Interference can cause it (from your mobile phone to Wifi signals, even next door's microwave in some cases).

Anything and everything can, theoretically at least, interfere with that wireless signal.

I'd highly recommend you use a wired keyboard for troubleshooting this issue (assuming you are indeed using a wireless keyboard).
