Lesson learned. Good on you to help others though! Though as you learned already, WD Green drives are meant to be used sparingly and not running all the time like other drives specifically because the WD Green are meant to be used as backups and storage drives; nothing more.
Kind of like trying to drive a Class E car on a race track. Sure you'll make it, but you'll ♥♥♥♥ up the car in the process.
Yep.
Though most new hard drives these days, WD Green or not are loads faster than drives from a few years ago. So a new WD Green will be faster than an older gen WD Green, probably because they are more efficient.
I run WD Blue 7200RPM at the minute and all my games run perfectly fine without producing too much noise, I don't really use my SSD for gaming because of the limited reads/writes they have compared to a mechanical drive, plus there's no real need in the real world. Only load times are going to be a bit faster.
The thing that makes me veeeeeeery angry is that i have a beast here..
except for that hdd.. I hope I can add a red 7200 rpm very soon.. for example just a few minutes ago i started the fleeca job.. well the screen stucked on the planning room, but the game was still running.. fortunately i had the map working so i drove the car and made the heist all blind.. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hdd
