Literally unplayable on Windows Vista
4 hours of downloading, 2 hours of troubleshooting, and 20 potential solutions later...GTA V is still literally unplayable. The Rockstar Social Club Launcher stops responding IMMEDIATELY on startup and is impossible to bypass or fix.

I CAN'T EVEN POST A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ REVIEW BECAUSE I HAVEN'T PLAYED IT FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES. ♥♥♥♥ YOU ROCKSTAR. JUST ♥♥♥♥ YOU.

I don't know why everyone's giving the TC crap, it literally says Vista as a 64-bit OS is supported. Ya'll need to up. Steam community sometimes, I swear...

Vista isn't supported anymore; and never was for this game anyways.
Just go download and install clean Win10; you don't need no key or nothing to use that OS.

No one dropped support out the blue, Vista died pretty much before XP even did; or about same time. Vista users shoulda jumped to Win7 right away, Vista was just the worse Windows ever.

You need to take a few seconds to read before you post.

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS)

And you should learn to read.

That's funny, because you go to that website and look up the system requirements for GTA V and it still lists Windows Vista as a supported OS.

At any rate this community is extremely toxic to a person asking a simple question.

It still takes about 3 clicks to install WIndows 10.

I don't know how to feel about this.

1. Some people may be hesitant to upgrade to a brand new operating system that has several widely publicized and controversial issues.
2. It's a guy expressing his frustrating, I think he's allowed to do that. Posting dumb crap like "lol i can't get it to run on my snes" only exacerbates the issue and literally doesn't help anyone, especially when both the Steam website AND the support website that is in your excerpt show the same set of system requirements. In this case, the user is not in the wrong.

Then maybe those people shouldn't be whining on the forums when their 800 year old OS doesn't support games anymore.

Nobody said he was wrong we were just having a laugh. Get over yourself. Even if its supported OP should upgrade to a newer OS

Also worth pointing out, Vista cannot be freely upgraded to 7,8 or 10 you have to pay full ticket and do a complete reinstall. Either way, the community is now being astoundingly unhelpful, so I'll restate OP's question, does anybody know why Rockstar Social Club now crashes on launch. Thank you

I don't have a fancy car, although I have the money and could buy it right now. I'm not in the mood for moving my butt and getting out, though, so let me blame YOU instead.

There can be a ton of things causing that issue. It ranges from missing a file to a registry error. The general troubleshooting steps that rockstar always gives me for social club is to
1. Verify game cache
2. Run as admin
3. Change the compatibility setting
4. Manually reinstall social club
None of these things worked for me. I fixed it by deleting the rockstar games registry and then launching the game. But again it depends on whats wrong.

Regardless of what Rockstar listed there, Vista is dead and there is nothing you can do about that. Updated Drivers even are generally not even supported on this OS anymore.

On top of this, or regardless of the OS debates, if your system is old enough to still have Vista on it, then it is way too old to run this game with good performance.

Win10 is free and you don't need any previous OS or Key to do this, just download & install from Microsoft.

No, you're wrong, it literally requires a 7 or 8/8.1 installation. Holy cow people.
Wookie 1/jan./2016 às 8:58
Not only that but you have to fully reinstall Windows too, alongside the cost.

Also here is my log from Rockstar Social Club failing to launch:

Hope somebody recognises what the issue might be (and how to potentially fix it)
