First need to enter story mode before going online?
Hey guys!
A while back i was playing GTA V Online when suddenly my computer decided to restart... Apparently, that little ♥♥♥♥ can decide on its own when to restart? ;(

Anyway, since then, when i start GTA V, i first need to go into story mode and then into GTA Online, otherwise GTA V Online says i didn't finsih the prologue yet...

Does anyone know how to fix this?

On your library you right click on Grand Theft Auto V, you go to Propierties, Local Files and you hit Verify Cache.

If your computer restarted unexpectedly you have a hardware issue. Check your windows log files to see what caused the reboot...stuff like that is usually caused by a power supply goin' bad.

Hey you need to delete your save files or something along those lines. Had the same problem as you and doing it fixed it. The glorious cloud gave me my saves back.

So where do i find my save?

Try this

- Delete your cfg.dat and pc_settings.bin files. Find them in Documents>Rockstar Games>GTA V>Profiles>(Folder named using random numbers/letters).
(back up the files that you're going to delete just in case)
- Run the game, calibration will be necessary, etc.
set your settings, then enter single player mode, then switch to Online (you should only be once asked to accept the EULA, and import the data of your game.)
- Once you're in a session, you may exit the game then start up GTA 5 again.
- Head to Online to see if it worked

If it still doesn't work I'll try to find the other thread somewhere hidden in the forums about it, but this sounds like what I did to fix it.

Your settings will be reset so after you accept the rules or whatever, go ahead and do your changes, restart the game and see if it worked.

i do have the random numbered folders, but the files aren't in there
