Will my progress made in Story mode be saved automatically if I reinstall Steam and GTA V?
As the topic suggests I would like to know if the progress I made in Story mode is automatically saved online meaning I can uninstall both GTA V as well as Steam and later reinstall without loosing all my progress? Or do I need to save something manually to make sure I won't have to start all over again?

Nope it won't
u gotta manually copy the Rockstar folder from Documents and re add it after the format or shomething in order to continue where u left

I just started playing again after 6 months not installed this, and everything is till here progress from singleplayer also

OK, with MGS 5 it was the same thing...everything was there when I installed both Steam and the game again so guess your progress is saved within your online Steam account which is great!

Will still keep the backup though until I've seen all is good.

Keep your backup, there is no cloud saving for GTA V on Steam...

If you reinstall your GTA and have no save backup you will lose all story mode progress, MGS V does have cloud saving enabled so you won't have to backup those.

OK, I'm just reinstalling GTA V so I'll see soon enough what will happen when I launch the game and I do have my backup should I need it.

It uses Rockstar's cloud, not Steam so I think you should be ok,

OK.

Well...what I already see in Steam now when I'm currently re-downloading the game is it's seems to remember my progress looking at the percentage of finished missions.

So...very happy I kept the backup becuase otherwise I would have had to replay the game from start...

The game does not use any cloud save for single play , nor Steam or R* Social Club servers .
Only online profile and progress is saved in Cloud on R* Social Club servers
