Worth playing 2024?

So GTA 6 is coming, and as many i got this feeling of hoping into Los Santos once more. However, it's no secret game current state with modders and cheaters going around ruining the game. I used to do PvP in the game quite a lot (not tryhard, just good at it) and everytime I had a good time doing it, a modder got in the way (the other player had mod menu, or he called a friend with it, or just a random modder thinks im a tryhard and gets in the way , etc). So, knowing that, is it worth to play these days? Like, is it worth to hop in and do stuff?

yea it's still pretty fun. in invite only lobbies. there are a lot of missions you can do solo

Stick to invite only. Public lobbies are too risky.

online mission/heist is a boring repetition, the only fun experience is dealing with the other players in a free roam, which is ruined by cheaters

I'm still having fun in invite only lobbies, still daydreaming that I'll see E&E content land on PC. But, I have hundreds and hundreds of other games as options to play, so no worries about something to do if/when I get bored of GTA Online again.

It is a shame R* has done a crap job of handling the cheaters. They should really leverage their ability to filter people into different lobbies for "good behavior" and filter cheaters and suspected cheaters into their own lobbies without telling them.

It depends if you still got the spirit to grind your way throughout the game, for me nothing has changed, I even stopped playing the game cuz I already owned all the businesses, including Yacht, have a hotseat 3 garages full of cars (all maxed out) all jets bought, including MK2 opressor, nothing else for me to do tbh.

Single player is worth playing. GTA IV single player is even better.

Online isn't worth even attempting to play. There are cheat menu users in 99 out of 100 lobbies, and most of them will never be banned no matter how open they are about their cheating.

Rockstar has a monetary incentive to allow cheaters to play. It's as simple as that.

GTA online has always been like this in every installment of the series.
Games in general are like this also.
Shooter ? someone got a aim bot.
MMORPG ? someone using trainers/ afk farmers.

At the end of the day if you can enjoy driving around and killing each other that's what GTA is.
I agree the online cheating in GTA is silly as hell. It takes a special kind of gamer to enjoy that chaos.

Worth If you :
- buy the game 10 bucks and never buy sharkcards.
- have steam friends to play with.
- are ok grinding stupid and boring missions.

++ :
- Lots of vehicles/aircrafts and weapons.
- Gameplay is very fun, story telling is great.
- Map is awesome to drive/fly trough.

I think GTA5 online success is because of freedom, fun and gameplay, not missions. What i enjoy the most these days is flying Raiju or Deluxo and killing npc, ramming npc with Vigilante or Wedge too.
i enjoy Series A and Pacific heists but R* is bad at designing multiplayer missions (or it's done on purpose to waste people's time...)

If you are ok to get scammed on console, you will have more fun : there is as much griefers and glitchers but no cheaters.

You mean't public lobbies? no one even plays on public lobbies, 99/100 I only play on my own private server with my friends, well yeah, I do agree with you that the online mode is infested by modders but we can't do anything about it, it should be the devs. should make an action about it.
