CD Key Issues fix

This is an issue I have been fighting for a few days with rock star and steam.
for context, i bought GTAV back in 2017 and quit playing after a few years and decided to deleted my rock star account. well now been wanting to start playing again and reading everywhere that CD KEYS are a one time account locked item with no way of changing them. SO i bought a new CD key through a reputably 3rd part website and redeemed it on rockstar launcher as intended but unfortunately rockstar was detecting my steam version with the old key and not the new version.

To fix this completely you have to completely remove the old GTA in your steam account and delete all files connected to it in your APPDATA and Documents folders. restart rockstar launcher and i was able to download it through their launcher instead.

this is merely a guide for those who lost access to their GTA account through steam or rockstar. figured I save someone a headache of support bots.

Epic games install of gta5 can also trigger the launcher to show the wrong version / launch (bypassed by just launching through steam itself). Simply renaming the game folder where it lives is usually enough to trigger a 'fix' in that regard. Especially useful if people want to maintain both copy/installs for multiple accounts and not 110+gb redownloads.
