F4 closing game?

You heard me right Just pressing F4, not Alt + F4 is causing my game to close, is there some reason for this? This means it's way too easy to close on accident or pressing F4 to test it or for doing something else.

F4 doesn't seem to bother my game in a vanilla state.

Depending on mods installed for storymode (especially after the recent game update), yes, F4=instant crash/close. I'd see if F4 is bound to anything ingame, and out. Yep, this even includes possible need for nightly builds of scripthookvdotnet - as the game isn't 'closing' but insta-crashing.

edit - Alt-F4 gives me a window asking if I want to close the game. Not insta-closing. Unless the requirement is being in a specific cutscene/location, etc. Nothing is said about additionally pressing enter to accept this. I guess the real question is - is the game actually closing out, or just reaching that window asking for confirmation~

edit- yep, as mentioned below - storymode mods, broken/outdated can do it.
Not 'enough' detail in first post to pinpoint mod usage though~

sounds like an alt key is stuck.. or at least the button under the key.. if you have a Fn (Function) button on your keyboard near the alt key, you might have accidentally hit both together and toggles a state of "sticky alt" (where the PC treats it as if alt is being held down)

That was my first thought too haha. Been there done that before. Scratched my head wondering what the hell.

I've had some scenarios where I just couldn't get it to act right till I took one good pound with both hands on as many keys as I can hit..

Too funny 🤣! We've all done the Hulk keyboard smash at some point.

Me it was a really old ass IBM keyboard I had from decades ago. My main keyboard crapped out after I spilled a drink on it so I was stuck with my oldie keyboard for a little bit until I could get a new one. Those old keyboards sure were built to last I tell ya. It still works great to this day too!

My situation resulted in a butter knife pry to get them to release. I can only guess they got stuck together from storage. I didn't even notice them stuck when I pulled it out and started using it. For days I was wondering why the hell things were behaving so strangely when I'd hit certain keys. I thought maybe it was just Windows not liking it back in the days when I used to use Windows. Needless to say it was a good laugh among friends for a while as it was affecting our gaming sessions.

Thank goodness it wasn't a case of PEBKAC. I was starting to get a bit worried about myself. 🤣

Supposedly its SHVDN, incompatible with latest GTA version, nightly version fixes it

Как оказалось, дело в ScriptHookVDotNet

Пришлось скачать Ночную версию скрипт-хук-в-дот-нет-а с гитхаба. Это помогло.

Надеюсь это поможет и вам.
